Chess ll for Intermediate Players

If you like to play chess and know how the pieces move, can use the address system, and are familiar with castling and notation, this course is for you. We’ll strengthen your play with topics such as: opening, defense, Pin, Fork, Skewer, Discovered Check/attack, Double check/attack, Checkmate in 1, Checkmate in 2. Come learn and play games with others on the Lichess platform. Target audience: 5th – 12th graders who are familiar with chess.

Explain how each piece moves and each piece’s value
What is check?
What is checkmate?
What is en passant?
What is a pawn promotion?
How do you notate a queenside castle?

Hello, My Name is Thomas Hodo. I started playing chess at the age of 9 and have been around it ever since. I’ve have played and won in tournaments in the past but my ultimate goal is to introduce “the game of life” to all who want to learn, and expose all the secrets of chess hidden within.
