Business 101: Setting Up Your Own Business

From setting up a lemonade stand to the creation of the iPhone, this introductory course will help you understand how to run your own business. With your ideas, we’ll explore the set-up stage: the types of businesses available and why someone would choose one over the other. If you already have a business, we’ll learn some of the legal aspects such as copyright, trademarking, patenting and franchising and why owning your ideas is so important. Target audience is 6th – 12th graders.

Angus George is a lawyer, currently living in Toronto, Canada. His experience is in family, entertainment and corporate law and has been practicing for the last 4 years. He is a big sports fan; especially soccer and football, two of which he played at the high school level. He is an avid reader, loves to travel, and his favorite subject in school was history. As the saying goes…”you don’t know where you going unless you know when you’ve come from”. Angus enjoys teaching young people and seeing where that knowledge can take them.
